康东

康东，原名刘康东，曾用名刘恒哲，乃西，1926年生于四川康定，中国当代著名书画家、中国人民解放军首次进藏的随军画家，享有盛誉的杰出军旅画家。康东1949年毕业于四川大学，1950年加入中国人民解放军任西南军区战斗文工团美术组创作员，1952年奉中国人民解放军总政治部调令进京，历任《解放军画报》社美术编辑、编辑组组长，中国美术家协会会员，中国老年书画研究会创作研究员。康东绘画题材涉猎广泛、画种多样，连环画，年画，版画，油画和国画均成就卓著。
50-80年代初，康东画名蜚声军内外，曾经与齐白石、徐悲鸿、叶浅予及军内外许多著名画家结缘交往。1962年，他同黄胄、佟翔天、寇鸿烈等在北京举办六人书画联展。1983年离休后，康东心无旁骛，潜心国画创作，创作了系列反映领袖人物、民族风情与歌颂祖国大好河山的国画作品。康东国画人物、山水、花鸟传统功力深厚，以诗书画相结合，用笔老辣潇洒，既具国画以神取形、以形传神和立意抒情的传统，又师法自然兼融西画之长，具有鲜明的民族特色和强烈的时代感。代表作有：连环画《烈火中永生》、《狼牙山五壮士》；油画《战斗的团结伟大的友谊》；国画《野生的马鸡》、《河口竹挺立》、《屹立的喜马拉雅松》；六十年代初，版画《ZHANG族牧歌》参加全国版画展并被中国美术馆收藏。康东作品多次参加国内外画展。国画《ZHANG族风情》在日本中日建交十周年展览中获金奖，《赤子》、《万里长征第一步》获2005年全国美展一等奖；1986年6月，在武汉举办《康东诗画展》引起画坛高度关注；2007年6月应邀在澳大利亚悉尼举办《康东中国画展》，被悉尼中国文化交流中心负责人称为罕有的高水准画展，赢得了悉尼观众特别是悉尼华人的高度赞赏。
