孙鸿庚，男，1970年生，河北邢台人，现居北京，先后就读于北京画院，中国艺术研究院研究生院，中国画院，中国民建会员，中国水墨大道画会副会长·作品多次参加全国展览，部分作品被政府和艺术机构收藏·现为北京上庄美术馆驻馆画家。
喜欢画画。”国画家孙鸿庚如是说。简单的理由，干脆的答复，散淡中带有自信，洋溢着潇洒与希望。这是他一生的追求与享受。　鸿庚是一位题材多样、技法全面的国画家。翻一下名片，某某山水画家，某某花鸟画家，某某人物画家等，我不主张这样分，相对于中国五千年传统文化的博大精深，分开会因小失大，顾此失彼。一个画家的生命状况应该是上下左右顾盼，环环相扣的，专为经，博为纬。鸿庚就把握了艺术的经纬，山水、花鸟、人物均有涉猎，青绿、浅绛、焦墨、重彩亦多为之。
鸿庚有着良好的造型基础，这源于他早期学西画的经历，也是严格地按照“五大调子三大面”的素描、水粉静物入门的，继而更多的是水粉、油画风景写生。早年的他在一国企工作，地处大山深壑之中，生活单调加讷于辞令，工作以外的时间全部用在了绘事上。以造化为师，日日对山痴坐，与白云青石为友，当地的牧羊人总能看到一个提着油画箱的年轻人穿梭于附近的群山之间。1994年他举家搬迁，定居太行山脚下的古郡邢台，陆续结识了郭明堂、钱广信等名家。鸿庚虚心学习，并由西画转国画了。有“师援”，加之“精勤”，进步很快，后来他又进京学习，得到著名画家王文芳先生的赞赏，随师辗转六盘山、兰州、平凉、拉卜愣寺、青藏等地采风，眼界大开，画艺精进。他依然穿梭于群山之间，写生的习惯一直保持，有几次我们结伴而行，“生性好松柏，投身华盖间”，或对景描摹，或独坐发呆，或仰观流云，不自禁地手舞足蹈，或干脆躺在石头上，曰“卧游”，尽情地观赏……老子“无为而无不为”、孔子“游于艺”、陆机“精骛八极，心游万仞”大概就是这种无目的又合目的的审美境界吧。
画是“无声的诗”，诗是“有声的画”。前不久我见到鸿庚的一批新创作的用笔、造型、设色、构图、神采极具文人气息的小斗方山水作品，大有画外之味、象外之意、景外之趣。鸿庚虽不作诗，但喜欢题写诗句，文友小聚时往往让人看画赋诗。画虽一艺，中有大道。宋李成游艺不仕，元吴仲圭不入城市，倪云林造清秘阁独居写溪山自怡，黄子久一日断炊，袒腹豆棚下，悠然画虞山。古人皆志节高迈，放达不羁，无尘容俗状，故画入神品。鸿庚似乎带有这样的品质，其山水画居多。观其作画，“默对素幅，凝神静气，看高下，审左右，幅内幅外，来路去路，胸有成竹，然后濡墨吮毫”。如此“五日画一水，十日画一山，能事不受相促迫”，深造自得，左右逢源，以笔墨性情养神，扫尽俗肠，享受艺术，实属难得。
在传统向现代转型和中西文化交融的背景下，中国画在这一历史进程中不外乎三种类型：一是传统主义者；二是中西结合者；三是立足于传统本位，有意识地借鉴西画表现技法者。三者都需付出辛勤的努力。鸿庚无疑不是前者。就中国画自身的审美观念来看，中西结合作品的笔墨、意境又是如何解决的呢？从郎世宁算起至今300年了，带给我们的启示有多少呢？鸿庚从西洋画转为中国画，潜心研究，从宋元明清人中寻师访友，往来于关仝、董元、李成、范宽、元四家、明四家、董其昌、石涛以及四王之间，似乎在找一些中国传统的文人精神作为创作支撑。
从艺术形态与艺术价值来看，鸿庚更趋向于后者，有意识地摆脱叙事传统，强调主观色彩，抛弃对直观世界的描述而去追求其纯粹化了的视觉体验和精神表现。对于“笔性”、“墨韵”、“心境”、“写意”等等所昭示的精神取向多表现为观念与文化层面上的主体选择，具有较明显的自觉因素和主动色彩；从国画创作本体来看，一名成功的国画家起码要具备两个方面的素质：一是对国画传统有深入的认识理解，再者是个人风格的确立。鸿庚虽然在后者还不到位，但从他的画可以看到其艺术延伸的方向，也读到了一个青年画家对国画艺术孜孜不倦的求道精神。
