饶宗颐

一九一七年生于广东潮州。字固庵，号选堂。自幼娴习书画，早年从金陵杨拭游，获观杨家珍藏任颐真迹数十幅，细心揣摹，得益良多，其人物、山水皆植基于此。
弱冠后专心治学，历任印度班达伽东方研究所、法国科学研究中心从事研究，远东学院院士，香港大学中文系、新加坡国立大学中文系、香港中文大学中文系、艺术系教授、讲座教授、系主任，美国耶鲁大学、法国巴黎高等研究院等院校教授。
一九六二年获法国法兰西学院颁发汉学儒莲奖、一九八零年被选为巴黎亚洲学会荣誉会员。一九八二年获香港大学颁授荣誉文学博士。近年又获岭南大学、香港公开大学赠予文学博士。一九九三年法国索邦高等研究院授予历史性第一个华人荣誉人文科学国家博士。同年，法国文化部颁赠高等艺术文化勋章。二零零零年七月获香港特区政府颁授大紫荆勋章。二零零九年二月获中华人民共和国国务院总理温家宝聘请为中央文史研究馆馆员。同年四月，获香港艺术发展局颁授终身成就奖。
现为香港中文大学中文系荣休讲座教授、艺术系伟伦讲座教授、香港大学、北京大学、南京、武汉、复旦、中山、厦门、首都师大等校名誉教授。
饶教授已出版的各类专著逾七十部，发表论文四百余篇，其中包括专著与画册《敦煌白画》、《敦煌书法丛刊》(二十九册)、《画宁页》、《虚白斋藏书画录》、《黄公望(富春山居图)及其临本》、《选堂书画选集》、《饶宗颐二十世纪学术文集》、《符号、初文与字母─汉字树》、《饶宗颐艺术创作汇集》等。
饶宗颐教授亦为当代著名书画家，二零零八年十月在北京故宫博物院举办“陶铸古今–饶宗颐学术艺术展”，并得温家宝总理致函祝贺。
